FAQs

1. Q: How did you two meet?

A: Vassar College ended up being an excellent place to meet future spouses. Steve was lucky that Sarah was intelligent enough to be accepted into the prestigious liberal arts college, with its reputation for shaping some of the nation’s brightest women. Sarah was lucky that Steve was male and Vassar had gone co-ed in 1969.

On one fateful spring day, Sarah and Steve met at Sunset Hill on Vassar’s campus. Sarah knew Steve would be living across the street from her during that coming summer. She approached him and offered him some brownies that she was carrying at the time. Steve was intrigued by this outgoing young woman. She had offered him baked goods.

And so it went.

2. Q: I bet Steve screwed up the proposal. Did he?

A: Contrary to popular belief, when it comes to matters of the heart it is possible for Fink boys to get things right. Some of the time.

Sarah and Steve’s proposal took place at the Central Park Boathouse. Steve had made reservations secretly and was going to surprise Sarah with the event. He then promptly left his laptop open on the couch in the apartment with the emailed reservation confirmation available for all to see. Sarah happened to see.

Regardless the two went out and enjoyed a lovely evening. After dinner, Steve presented Sarah with brownies, and a question. Sarah was intrigued by this outgoing young man. He had offered her baked goods.

And so it went.

3. Q: I plan on coming from out-of-town. How should I get to Portsmouth? Where should I stay?

A: Check out our Travel and Accommodations pages for all of the information you need.

4. Q: Boy, I am so excited about your upcoming nuptials that I want to give you a gift. What should I get you?

A: How sweet of you. Gifts are in no way necessary. The best gift we can receive is the one where we are able to share our happy day with you. If you feel so inclined to be even more generous, please click here.

5. Q: Is there a theme to your wedding?

A: Great question.  Is “awesome” a theme?  If so, then that would be our theme.

6. Q: Band or disc jockey?

A:  Band it is, and what a band, if we may say so.  Guests will be enjoying the musical stylings of The Swinging Johnsons during the reception.  One of the best parts? These guys have been written about in a Stephen King novel.

7. Q: Any good pictures of you two?  Can we see them?

A:  All you had to do was ask.  Click here for some photos of us in action.

8. Q: If you two were a celebrity couple, what name combination (e.g. Brangelina, TomKat, Bennifer) would you go by?

A: We would most likely be known as Furbett. (Thanks to Ken W. on this one).
